IDS Conference and Keynotes offered four days of exciting & educational content under three conference tracks.

Building the Design Business

Learn how to build your brand and achieve results for your design business. Experts covered negotiation with clients, profitability, team building and more. Marketing leaders shared insights for success in digital marketing, social media, and next-level growth. Attendees participated in exciting presentations such as Canadian Product Design: Risks, Rewards & Making it Across the Border in which three trailblazing, made-in-Canada brands shared how they disrupted the usual business playbooks to make it big.

Climate Change & Social Responsibility

Climate change and social responsibility permeate every design conversation we have. This track took a deep dive into topics ranging from ending the use of plastic, biophilic design for children's well-being and the benefits of using mass timber in the construction industry. This track explored how to create healthy interiors with innovative products, the social housing crisis and reconciliation. Key presentations included The Circular Economy 2.0, Many Hands: Indigenous Co-Design for Higher Education and Reviving Social Housing Through Conservation.

Technology & Innovation

Is technology the solution for climate action and societal issues? Consider this with top professionals from the field of virtual spaces and affordable construction solutions, and practices facing the housing crisis head-on. Attendees explored modular design with Lamay, Prefab Multiplex Housing with Studio JCI, the Metaverse with Rollout and Form + Sense and Prototyping Futuristic Solutions with WZMH.
