Echoes

Echoes is an exploration of the contemplative and evolving nature of ceramics by Gabrielle Burke. The large scale ceramic works are thrown and carved by hand, and through the process the lines reverberate against each other, and the contrast creates a play of light and shadow. The process of making vessels that push the Artist's physical abilities brings the Maker to an alpha state, allowing the echoes of the mind to undulate.

Gabrielle Burke is the owner of Community Clay, an Artist Run Studio in Vancouver, BC. Burke creates artworks that explore the intricacies of the process of working with clay, and values the Artist's responsibility for reducing their impact on the environment. Most works are made with recycled clay from the Membership, Classes & Workshops offered through the Studio.
