Profile
Corey Klassen (he/they) is a Principal and Founder of Articulated Design Studio and is also an Interior Design Educator. They started Corey Klassen Interior Design in 2011, now Articulated, with a focus on providing authentic, accessible and approachable physical environments while delighting in the eclectics of the unique clients they serve. They have won multiple international design awards and often lend their experience and knowledge to shelter publications and the broader interior design industry.
As an educator and professional speaker, both with the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and public/private institutions, Corey focuses on creating stronger connections to the standards of industry practice through programming, space planning and technical and contract documentation while highlighting the need for inclusively designed spaces.
Corey has volunteered with the NKBA BC Chapter, the NKBA Certification Task Force and been a peer reviewer for numerous industry related texts. In addition, they have written and developed courses for the NKBA, Lixil America, and BLANCO North America while speaking across Canada and the U.S. presenting Professional Development courses. As a leading Subject Matter Expert, Corey was a Content Coordinator for NKBA’s new Kitchen & Bath Planning Guidelines, 4th Edition.
Corey grew up in southeastern Manitoba and contributes his love of design and business to his family who were not just immigrant farmers, but they also designed and built homes, owned a local lumber yard and also a small air strip. As a recovering runner, he switched gears into road cycling and enjoys strapping a bike to his car and enjoying the beauties of the Pacific Northwest with his fiancé Andrew.
