Installations and Spaces 2023
Moving Parts
This year’s theme comes to life in an exhibition designed by PICNIC Design. We present a selection of cutting-edge products that provide innovative solutions to the challenges of the last few years, including pandemic-induced changes in human behaviour; shifting supply chains; and widespread acceptance of the climate crisis.
The Space
On January 19-22, 2023, EQ3 is hosting The Space at IDS Toronto. Discover a curated lounge where you can enjoy conversation with other design professionals and enthusiasts. As you sit back and relax, explore EQ3’s latest collections draped in their newest fabrics and leathers. Learn about their design process and the talented makers that bring them to life. Guests will leave with a complimentary tote bag.
GRAY Stage with ARIDO and IDC
IDS 2023 has doubled the amount of free talks on the show floor this year. West Coast multi-disciplinary design media experts GRAY collaborate with the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario and Interior Designers of Canada to program a stage designed by SDI design. This stage will be a platform for discussions, presentations, and, on Sunday, live making with GRAY LABS. Full program to be confirmed soon.
BALANCE
Christina Sideris presents BALANCE: an immersive art installation exploring the pursuit of happiness. Visitors will enter a tunnel created with dramatic, large-scale photographic art pieces displayed on custom-made, illuminated boxes. This new biophilic system has been scientifically documented to increase productivity and creativity, and improve mood.
Select
Making its debut this year, Select is a feature of curated premium furniture at the centre of the show. Creating a forum for important international brands, Select will showcase the best in what global brands and designers have to offer. The selection will include By Interiors (Japan), Expormim (Spain), Inscape (Canada), and La Manufacture (France). Providing showgoers with a first look at Select this year, IDS plans to expand the feature in 2024.
