Profile
Michael Murphy has developed design businesses around the globe, including launching Herman Miller for the Home in Europe, leading Marketing for Avenue Road Furniture and creating a new interiors label, Man Of Parts, for Weishaupt Design Group. A passionate activist, he is a volunteer and founding Director of Rainbow Railroad, the largest NGO in the world dedicated to helping LGBTQ+ people find pathways to safety. Pairing his love of design with social justice, he joined Shorefast Founder Zita Cobb in 2022 to help build community business Fogo Island Workshops to support economic development and promote design in the service of nature and culture.
